HI every one.
not all smiles as one may presume, i need help!
i was recently writting a first person xeno story which i have been working on for a few months. but i am fast running out of ideas. so can anyone help me? i don't give a S**t who it is. but any ideas will be noted and greatly considered.

Whats tyhe story about?

I'm not shure what your storyline is about or how it goes but here's the important think u need about four really cool characters or somthing like that until almost the end then kill two or three of them leaving the last to meraculously survive. Oh yeah and make shure you blow up all the aliens too

xeno will kik de asses of all that oppose the hive and the queen mother. those who are loyal are rewarded, while those who oppose us will be swiftly and mercilessly crushed. ooops... sorry about that, the queen had me in her grips there for a moment. im sick f all the stories where humans always come out on top (if barely). dem bugs should win for once, give the greatest threat to mankind its due. give da humies hell, Marcuspred!

I'm with NiteStalker on this one - xenos being beaten up by the humans EVERY time, in human pov is getting rather old. If you are doing a first-person alien view, the thing you have to remember is you have to get right into the alien's head, think like he/she does. Remember too, that until he's learned about things, he won't necessarily know what they are, so you will need to be very descriptive instead.

A newly burst chestie is like a blank canvas with only instincts to work with until its learned stuff. If it sees a Marine with a gun it won't, for example, know it's a marine or that he has a gun, possibly not even whether the human is male or female. All this it must learn along the way. In Diary of a Xeno, I got around this a little bit by giving my Queenie a rudimentary understanding of human speech which she inherited from her host, and N'ihlanthsss taught her a lot as she made her way to the hive.

Also I find writing from the view of something of the same sex as myself much easier - especially as DoX was my first ever written work. I've since done male alien POV and it's very difficult!!

Ahh but bug bashing is the best it's classic, but yes even I admit it's getting a little old, oh yeah marcus we dont wanna hear about ANY alien's having uh relations keep it with the humans OK. As for story a human teaming up with a pred is always different and cool. In fact y dont you just let some civilians live and have the hero blow himself up with the entire hive. Or you could go classic and have the hero defeat the queen using some really cool method like lureing her out over a bridge and it breaks making the bitch fall to her doom SPLAT

I'm as big of fan of the predators as sloffy is of aliens . (cept i dont collect models or build them, I have no money and no artistic talent )

thanx every one. killerdutch, i will put a pred in there you can name it if you want. but its gonna die any way. coz the story is about to xenos. a praetorian and a drone who are stranded on a reasearch station. but if it gets posted on sloffies site you can all read it fomr there. thanx again keep the ideas commin

DOn't get the wrong i dea. you said it easier to write a character who is the same gender as your self Remember?

Oh, yeah - I remember now! Yeah - I wrote a story in male alien pov and it was difficult! Trying to describe things from a male perspective - eeeeuuww weird!

Why does any species have to come out on top? Why does one of every species succeed? Isnt it boring just to have a species get away with its life while all the others suffer?
War is not a good thing and no one comes out on top, and the alien universe is a good place to show that.

In my opinion the story has to make people think about what they just read
e.g. after reading Aliensofs "Strange tastes" it made me think about the concept for hours after reading the story.
Also I think a lot of people agree that the "kick ass scenarios" are old, where peole you havent even heard of become killed in excess amounts.

i know what you mean - i have believed that and felt that that is true my entire life. but lets face it - in a computer game, there will always be a single victor. and it will never be the xenos. but we can still pretend that the humans wont win this time, cant we.

if it was true life, i would be voting for the humans for obvious reasons, but seeing as its just a game, im behind the bugz all da way, baybee.

yeah, why is it always the main char that survives?i mean, duh, he is the main character so should be through most of it, but main characters dying while regular joe from the kitchens escapes with his life is a once in a lifetime experience to read. it gets a bit boring - its like, ok. its from this guys pov, so hes going to survive. he really likes this chick, so shell die after confessing her eternal love. he doesnt like this guy, so that guy will sacrifice himself to save the main char and the main char will remember him forever. it gets more than a tiny bit predictable. the main char dying would wake a couple of readers up with the shock, theyre like, woah - that didnt really happen, did it?
