So, the PCI-E graphics cards are getting cheaper and the spec is increasing at such a rate that standard AGP cards are now far behind...

...however....

the idea behind the PCI-E and graphic cards is the bonus of having 2 cards running side by side, however, nowhere have I seen that this is possible with the cards currently on the market.

Whats up with that?

As I have mentioned, I had been trying to find out how to make the most of the PCI-Express architecture, so here it goes....

What you need to look out for is the SLI logo !

1) You will SLI certified motherboard

2) 2 Identical SLI graphics cards

3) blow you mind !!!!!

How this works?
Your mobo comes with a special cable, you connect the 2 graphics cards together with the cable. This allows the cards to synchronise and work in parallel.

Each card creates everyother frame you see on screen. This means that the cards have twice as much time to process their frames and therefore create far better images.
And with the new image processing features onboard your gaming will never be the same again.

For more info, go the nVidias sites on the subject:-

The person who built my rig for me apparently has done his own experimenting with PCI-E, from what he explained to me, it is indeed worth it in the long run, even if it leaves your wallet slightly lighter. Personally, if i had the time and money, i would look into it myself, but i am happy with my rigs performance for the time being.

BTW prez - Check your email man, there is something you need to see.

There are some really nice GPU's out now.

They can start competing with the NextGen consols, but as they are not subsidised by the manufacturers, they are still rather more expensive than a XboX360 or a PS3

HDTV = High Definition TV

As we got a good relationship with most of the large publishers we can get permision to use stuff from the game/demo it self. But, with things like the XboX360, how can one get the media?

So any cards that could take the component cable (3 jacks for the RGB) ?

The card I am looking at upgrading to (Geforce 7800 GS 512mg) is HDTV compatible, if i can get enough cash together I am also think of buying two of them and letting the dude who built my rig get some PCI-E action going.

my suggestion, if youve got the cash, pitch out for 1 EVGA geforce 8800 GTX. It will be more powerful then both of the other cards combined.

Im saving up my money to build a super rig and thats the card im likely to be putting in.

I have a 8800 GTX, and its not much different to when i was running two 7800 GS's the load is more spread out with dual channeling but in theory, the two 78's were better i thought. Might try another 8800 in a month or two.
