I got a book called Complete JAVA, it's quite good with a few examples on the acompaning CD. Then it's easy to search the web anderstand someof the more specific code.
However, I hardly have the time to sit down and read it properly to master the language. I just keep reffering to it when I have to.
So in short, just buy a book if you really want to get into it.
