OK. For whatever god-awful reason my comp. won't save pictures/images in their original format. It always saves them as bmp. instead of jpg. or gif. My old comp. never had this problem, so somethings deifferent, I just haven't a clue what. Although it has begun to save some of the pics in their original format.
If anyone has even the slightest clue as to why it's doing this, and to how I can fix it, let me know, it'll be greatly appreciated. I'm at wits end here. Not even my Dad knows why it's doing this, and he fixes computers for a living....

ummm why do you want JPEG's they're the lowest quality images whereas BMP's are the highest quality used for pictures and stuff, also if you load your bmp's into an art package you should be able to save them as any type you like.......but you gotta have an art package to do it. Hope that helps!

If your running XP it may be that the operating system thinks you want the larges but best quality image. I don't know how to fix this because I hate XP sorry. Also it could be the program your saving the image under, find it and try to set it to save under Jpeg

When you got the file browser window to select the location to which you want to save the file, there is drop down box for "Save File As". Does it have anything but the bmp option in there ???

Most often it just give me the bmp. option. On rare occasions though it'll give me the jpg. or gif. option.

As you dont even get the GIF or JPG file format option, then it's something more complex and I dont know enough about Windows to help you.
Sorry

But as for the problem, If it's XP I think it's your profile setings, If it's not XP I have no clue sorry.

I don't use XP myself, my freind told me about the setings but not how to access them, it might be in control pannel somewhere, you'll have to look for it there.
