Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Metroid Prime (the second one) and like ALNS said, Halo 2. I haven't played either of the three but am sure they are good.
Don't think I have drowned in any game play this year but will be next year when I'm gonna finish Jack and Daxter II to play Jak 3 and Predator: Concrete Jungle, and Resident Evil 4. The graphics on that game looks so cool! I also heard the targeting system will be easy but with a different plot layout then the usual bit with the Umbrella industry or Racoon City. Devil May Cry 3 also sounds tempting.

don't laugh but I'll nominate Pokemon Firered and Leafgreen. I just love those new graphic improvements.
