I like the ideas, the trailers and teasers look cool.
BUT--I still cant comprehend WHY would they re-introduce Lance Henriksen...

I think they wanted some continuity with the other Alien movies, and since it takes place so long in the past relative to those movies they needed some contrived way to get a similar character.

Well it is probably to spice things up. Because usually it's predator, human or alien, human. I guess they want to put all three together to cause true mayhem between the races.

Unfortunately, for mayhem to ensue, ONE species needs to be in abundance.

I havent seen the movie. Its not even out i quess. But usually such movies end withe the superior or stronger species die. And weaklings will win (huamns)!

I have I cheat sheet for the problem. I was too reluctant to wait.....so I bought the novelization. I won't give out anything *wink wink*.

well that's because they want human to be the superior race. they want the human to look better in most movies.

The reality looks like this humans are the 2 advaced species, yautja is 1. And from strongness huamns are last, we will see ho will win in such a fight in avp movie the yautja or the alien.

I wathced the internet d/l cast movie thingy--it seems Lance is another pre-pre-pre-great-great grandfather of all the other Bishops in the Alien series....

Its like desperately trying to make the Alien series STOP being scifi by anchoring it in our present, real, reality.

I too read the Novelization then sent it off to Mar, so that he won't have to wait soo long before the movie gets to Aussie land.

I think people here are basing their facts of Oomans winning over Yautja and Xenos because, Oomans, make the films and of course you want the conniving, ever changing, nuke em from orbit pink skinned oomans to win.
It makes them feel better!
But I will enjoy the film, for it will show new gadgets, gizmos and the thing that has always brought Yautja back to hunt oomans, their ingenuity!! Oh and we all get to kick butt on Xenos and see them as their deadly selves too!!

Well i quess i should think on more positive on the film, as i one treath tryd to defend the film (smooth its corners)
And yeah, it ususally end huamns, or 1 huamn killing everybody and surviving its self, but he will be badly wounded but will survive. And the next day he will go golfing withe the predators head Not realy just joking!! (I hope it will be the opposite)

Actually, my view of humanity through movies and books is more of the "lets detonate the ultimate nuke and take them ALL to hell with us" attitude.

You mean like Aliens where Ripley detonated a nuke and got away all sow. She should have blow herself up then the queen would have not got on the dropship!?
Well i see it like this: We are a buch of scared weaklings, lets take the biggest bomb we have and blow the other species up, then we will take the body pieces of the creatures and studie them withe out the whole forking alien race getting pist off about it.

In my opinion (On Aliens) Ripley should have just torched the eggs, discombobulated the drones and hauled. If she left the queen alone it would have died anyway. Because Hadleys Hope was just a ticking time bomb.

Anyway we don't want to demean our already demoralized species. Showing the populus we CAN lose, people would not be so #####.

Looking at the trailers, it seems that Matrix has reached even into the AvP world--check out the fight scene between the Pred and the Alien--its like Agent Smith and Neo all over again.

Heh it is wow, but i will check that out in the movie. I havent seen any trailers i dont want to teas my self. The less i know the more interesting the movie will be!

I'm looking forward to it immensely - but, PG-13???

Oh well, hopefully it just means less red blood and more green and greenish-yellow blood
