Is anybody here into anime? Does anybody here have any particular favorites? I am curious about what people like, but I am also looking for recommendations. This includes both movies and TV series (and mini-series).

I haven't watched Gundam yet, but I know something about it. Inuyasha is probably next on my list once I finish the ones I watching now (which may be a while). I am really not in a position to start another 100 episode series, considering I am watching 2 right now and just finished robotech. What is 08th MS Team?

Inu Yasha I defininitely plan on looking into. Sounds like I might have to look into gundam too.

I am also getting into anime music. I have downloaded a fair amount of the music from anime movies and TV shows. I have been currently listening to the same song from .hack//SIGN for the past 2 days pretty much every second I am in my room, and I am playing it in my head whenever I am not. I have a number of other songs I like a lot that I listen to quite a bit, especially the theme songs from vampire hunter D, Zoids CC, evangelion, outlaw star, .hack//sign, and Rurouni Kenshin. I sort of have a thing for theme songs in general. The great thing is I can't understand the words (since they are in japanese), so they don't distract me while I work. This song, evolution, is probably the best song I have heard in months.

Probably the reason you didn't know I was interested in anime is because I have not been watching it that long, only a few months. I probably missed the first discussion because I just wasn't watching them yet. But now I know what I have been missing out on! My room-mate got me into it, he is a DBZ freak. He's been in heaven since we got cartoon network a couple weeks ago (or would be if he had any time right now).

now renegade why watch sailor moon when u can go and get some good hentia at any mall movie store. i dont really watch any other anime other then DBZ and not even that in recent times.

Its not DBZ anymore, they are just finishing it and are moving into DB:GT now. Thought you might want to know. I never really got into the DB series myself.

What are considered the "big ones" of anime? I am pretty sure the list includes (hopefully in order):

Are there any others considered in the same ballpark? (popularity-wise, not necessarily quality-wise) Or any of those that don't belong there? I more mean generally accepted upon importance, not necessarily your personally feelings.

Thanks. I didn't watch very much of it, but what I saw of zoids zero wasn't my favorite. I like classic quite a bit more. I am currently stuck on zoids classic 16 (and have been for a month now). How does the remaining 3/4 of the series compare to the beggining? No plot points, please, I already know more than I want to. I am just wondering if it stayed at about the same level.

I thought "Princess Mononoke" was stunning.

Do you guys listen to the music from the shows or movies on its own?

I haven't seen Princess Mononoke myself but I heard great things about it.

Well I like anime aswell but the problem is anime isn't really available in South Africa and can't really legaly be brought with in SA because of some import law thing so the amount of anime i see is limited to DBZ, what I brought over the internet from a local guy who imports anime. So I don't really have a top ten list.

I downloaded alot of the Outlaw Star soundtrack off of Kazaa, im still tryiing to get all the songs

Where can you find a complete list of songs frome each anime soundtrack?

go to, yahoo(or any other search engine) type in the name of the anime series soundtrack your lookin for (Ex. Outlaw Star soundtrack, Robotech soundtrack, Gundam soundtrack) and see what comes up, thats what i do anyways....

I like Yu-Gi-Oh, Card Captors and the Zoids. Both of them!
