Okay, I wanna let you in on what we got planned for the remainder of this year.

Comments, ideas, volunteers will be appreciated.

1. We have the IGI2, NOLF2, H&D2, Unreal2 sites being built by me [providing graphics and initial content]. They will come online as I finish them.

2. AvP2.Net is still our "premier" site [best people, cool members, most content, etc].

3. GameStory is taking aaages to get going [I'm fighting opposition from webmasters about posting GS-related newsies].

New promotion ideas are needed- I'm wokring on that.

4. RogueGamerz is going to become our "gamespydaily" site, where all news items from the various sites will be featured.

It will also become the MOTHER and flagship site of our little network. Newsletters about various site(s) activity will go out from RG too.

5. We will move the forums to the RG site. Why? Simple- all forums on all our sites will be located @RG so that there is cross-traffic and cross-fertilisation between IGI, AvP, NOLF, etc, gamers.

Each site will have its section [so that Aliens writers from GS will be able to talk with Aliens fans from AvP2.net without having to change forums, etc]

6. All user profiles will be located @RG as well. That way you will be automatically registered for ALL our sites and have access to each site's "member" features.

It will give YOU a simple solution and will allow US to simplify our data structures and storage.

That means that Private Messages will also go through the RG account [chatting to everyone in every site].

Thats about it for now [I do have a few more major projects in mind for the network but they will remain classified until the stuff above goes online].

Anyhow - comments? flames? praises?

oh, I forgot-

we will be running custom-written scripts [by Prezes] so everything will be smaller, nicer looking and also faster [for all those on 56k]

there will be new features, and we'll kill off those un-necessary or crap ones.

we migh even do duplicate versions of the site:

- low graphics for non-cable

- high graphics for those on fast connections

[just a thought for the future]

I think the idea of a duplicate site for those not on a high speed internet modem would be a good idea for when my modem starts acting up

Agreed. but that is one of the options for later when we have spare workload capacity.

The network structure must be created and instituted first.

With all this work you're doing isn't it about time you upgraded from mere DEMIgod?

I like the hub system, linking all the sites together, with the forums, pm's and newsies on the central hub site. Means I might get to trade ideas with even more writers and gamers, after all, I'm really eagerly looking forward to Unreal 2 I love to kick around ideas with other writers, it benefits all.

The streamlining is also a good idea as there are still a surprising number of ppl still on modems - when I'm designing webbies, I often get modemers to test them for speed as I'm on 1mbit cable mmmmmm

It also nicely links several of the same genre of games together, even though I only play maybe 2 or 3 of the mentioned titles.

they simply "un-cap" your data transfer rights.

Blueyonder people are supposed to be offering up to 3megabits for home use by Xmas.

BTW: thanx for the feeback ppl.

keem 'em coming.

[I'm now playing NOLF for the game info for the NOLF site]

What you may want to keep in mind is the next-gen consoles like PS2 and X-Box are going online soon with many games exclusive to their respective platform (non-PC). By year end there will be in many regards, a whole new audience. If games like AvP, Unreal etc. have spawned an on-line followinf so will games like Twisted Metal, Final Fantasy and other console-exclusive titles.

but that will mean we'll need console specialists to take care of such sites....

For want of somewhere to put this, I've plonked it in here seeing as it's partially relevant:

When I click on 'submit news' on GS, it takes me to my details page instead of the submit news form! All sorts of weird html code seems to appear when I highlight the link too!

half, partial. ie, not a full God.

Hercules was a demigod, ie. he had godly powers but came from human stock.
