Well you could bring back those pop up menus for the navigation bar, they did take long to load but they where good and kept things smaller.

true--the some were pretty nifty, but some reality-challenged browsers didn't SEE them.

I'm thinking about bringing the chatbox back.....

Oh yeah now I remember yeah to bad hey it was really usefull.
I think it would be wonderfull if you brought back the chat box (after a few small tweaks here and there). Its easier then the mIRC and you can't use some alias and make trouble.

A search engine for the forums. Preferably one with boolean support.

Also a list of all registered members that can be sorted various ways.

If no sigs or unique avatars are going to be allowed, at least have a little button at the bottom of the posts for people's personal web page (at least for similar forum engines I have seen it was next to the "quote " and "user profile" buttons)

And the ability to customize the number of most recently updated topic that are displayed. I preferably would prefer more, but I am sure there are plenty of people who like the current number of might like less, so it would be cool if you had the ability in your personal setting page to pick the number of topics displayed. Not sure if this is possible or not, though. Probably would be good to have the same options for news and stories as well.

I would also like to see the return of the 'you have a new message' text as it was easier for me than trying to remember how many there were last time I looked!

I thoguht some one would have noticed the header bar on the right hand side (below the image of different game characters) once you log in...

The worry we have with sigs is with people going over the top with them (on some other forums you get threads of people going "oh llok at my new sig" followed by 200k of images)...

Making more sites is the goal, but I/demi/dvVII/AlienSlof/SM/etc simply cannot muster all the games and provide all the content....

We want to have a reall community networks, were gamerz provide the stuff for other gamerz....

GaySpy (the top people anyway) has a reall attetitue problem, were they simply don't care about the community gamerz and simply will do anything to get an extra buck at the end of the month....

how much would they need to get them to work harder. we could pay them soem extra money to help us out here. and besides recruit more of us registered users to help u guys out, spread the joy of being a boss on the website to those that have senority and also those that are willing to do it or have time. you guys shouldnt be working so hard and not having people like us not helping.

AGN crew are always talking about twelcoming any and all help, yet not too many people even TALK about helping, and virtually NO ONE actually helps.

me and Nostromo are coming online today, so it would be nice if MORE people would hook-up with the network and start providing the sites with game material.

Please, please no. Not Counter-Strike, please. That WILL attract all the little CS kiddies.

When I go to McDonald's and ask for a quarter pounder with cheese, regular fries and an apple pie, I expect to be served them. I don't expect to be told "There's the kitchen, cook it yourself".

If I go to see a comedian on stage I don't expect to be told by the management to get up on stage and take my turn at telling jokes. I'm a punter. I don't run the Theatre, I don't own McDonald's.

Similarly, the majority of visitors to this site are punters. They didn't start the site and they don't run the site and they come for information or to be entertained during their stay before the zip off elsewhere.

This attitude of trying to make everyone feel guilty for not doing something not only smacks of conscription but it sucks!

If people want to help they will. Not everyone has the time. I have my own reasons for not wanting to get involved and they will stay MY reasons.

Why do people HAVE to register? There's not even a guest option in the forums. So, you drift in there, Ooooo, I'd like to add my say, oh, you gotta register, stuff that. Of they go never to be seen again. To much of this site is register to do this that or the other. No register, tough, your not part of it. Register and you get an extra helping of 'lay the guilt on me baby, yeah!"

Tell you what, remove my registration, I'd love you to.

A basic security feature existing for several reasons...but the main one is increasing legal requirements for the WWW encroaching on site-runners [and this will only get worse].

No, Anise has very valid points. It's fine to get people to submit their own ideas for the site, in fact that's a great idea.

But to blame them for NOT submitting ideas is just not right. You'll drive people away if you dump the guilt trip on them. Surely it's the job of the staff to implement ideas of their own too.
