Okay, I *know* I'm probably stupid to get involved, but sometimes even I can't keep my mouth shut. Why? The latest thread about "dissing" a certain someone's story in public for very obvious reasons. This just makes me sick. So this is "grown up" and "mature", huh? If you don't like a certain story and feel you have to say it, do so in the "comment section" of the story. hey, it even would be progress if SOMEONE *did* use this possibility, or, dare I say, even the rating? Hardly anyone rates any story anymore. Criticism re. a certain story, no matter how obvious the reason for it is, belongs there, and there alone.
And what about this "everybody has a right to MY opinion" attitude? Does everybody have to hate this story just because you did? Does everybody have to hate Daggle just because you do? I - for one - don't. I thought his story was original, and I find Daggle a nice guy who is pleasant to chat with.
Demi, you can close this thread now if you want to, or throw me out, but I really wanted to say this.

Don't worry about it AQ, I've been asking for it, I expected it, and even suggested starting the thread myself to see how much criticism it would receive. I knew it'd be a vehicle for a personal attack, and I was right... how predictable

You are right, the point of the comments is to provide a direct feedback to the writers (without moaning about them somewhere else! )

look daggle it wasnt a personel attack. it was just saying that i think ur a hipprocrit. u called marks story poor. but yet your story was absolutly a waste of your time. i am sorry but come on. please tell me why it was submitted on aliens. were was the main subject. if u post something under aliens then have it to do with aliens. this is something that would usually be the other wya a round. u would be tearing this fic to peices if it was mine or somebody elses.

Well, if you feel a story is bad and you *don't* want to insult the author but tell him about it just the same, avoiding words like "your story is crap" and "a waste of time", and inviting everybody over and use the thread to tell you just *how * bad they think it was, is probably not the most diplomatic way? Maybe we should work on our use of words, or what? Imagine anyone telling you how *crappy* your stories were - you'd be flying right into their faces!

I wouldn't expect you to have seen the films, because you're underrage and watching them would be a criminal offence, though had you seen them (especially Alien Resurrection) you would have understood.
If you have broken the law, watched the films and read the story, and still fail to see what it was about and how it fit into the aliens saga, then you are obviously stupid. I say this, because everyone else that has read it (to my knowledge) has understood it. Aside from Marcuspred, to which the same applies, bar the underrage viewing of the films.

Alien lord, if you cant take it, dont try to dish it out. You're thread was a personal and direct attack on Daggle, now I didnt see him coming back and swearing at you at all...no, in fact I'd say he's preaty calm about it. Hmmmm, let me think, perhaps you had best rethink you're critiquing (sp D: ) strategy because I'd say you're losing the battle.
I cant think of any other way to comment, that is all

After contemplating many responses to this thread and the general proceedings on this site, I think I'm going to spare myself the agony of getting further involved. It's worthless, a complete waste of time and only keeps me from writing.
I knew it was stupid starting this thread...
