In an attempt to keep people safe from COVID-19, Sony as prohibited shops from physically handing over the next gen console, any sales made on the release day will be online only.
In the interest of keeping our gamers, retailers, and staff safe amidst COVID-19, today we are confirming that all day-of launch sales will be conducted through the online stores of our retail partners.
No units will be available in-store for purchase on launch day (November 12 or November 19, depending on your region) – please don’t plan on camping out or lining up at your local retailer on launch day in hopes of finding a PS5 console for purchase. Be safe, stay home, and place your order online.
The information came from Sid SHUMAN, in his blog.
The console will go on sale on the 12th of November, and on the 19th (a week later) in the UK and all other regions.
The UK has gone into it's second lock-down from 9th of November to 2nd of December, spanning the release date of the PS5TM. The rules to provision for "Click-and-Collect" orders, this should cover the PlayStation 5 pre-orders. Therefore, if you got your order in, and it's been confirmed, you should be able to collect your new toy at the predesignated time slot.
