Yea theres some pretty freakish stuff, and the funny thing is that vegans (usually) are all about bein natural and how eating meat and milk is not natural, while it is 100% natural the idea of veganism and vegetarism(real words?) is a idea of recent cultures... (well not so recent ) but if you go back a long time ago you ate what ever you can to survive, thats pretty natural if you ask me

well...

1. its a logical progression for us as a species to evolve into vegetarianism

2. I heard a while back that there ALREADY exists enough agricultural capability for the WHOLE population to go vegetarian.

3. Milk IS the most difficult to digest substance....

I'm a veggie too, though I did once have some hedgehog flavoured crisps in my dim and distant youth!

Were those made from real hedgehogs, Slof?

Being a fairly frequent visitor to south east Asia, there's all sorts of weired and wonderful stuff (as Demi is no doubt well aware). Some hawker centres have live frogs in tanks to choose from (never even considered touching them), but my personal favourite is deep fried baby octopus - mmmm... crunchy....

And ostrich biltong (the South African version of jerky I think) has a very distinct taste. Ostrich meat is rather rich, but not to gamey. Worth a try if you get the chance.

In Kuala Lumpur they serve sea-food rice with a little fried octopus on top of the rice pile--where European cultures put a bit of green lettuce or sumthin--there its an octopus. Crunchy and yummy too.

Other than that--squid rings are amaaaaaaazing.
Whole fried squid is veeery nice.

Kangaroo meat is pretty good.

It's very unlikely, I think they were kind of a joke thing done by the crisps manufacturer - they tasted DISGUSTING!

Before I was a veggie, I did eat crocodile a couple of times - my parents have an exotic butcher shop near where they live, and he sells all kinds of weird things, kangaroo, ostrich, croc, etc...

Do you mean those cute little crunchy red ones with the big eyes that you eat whole? I love those, I always get them when I go to a sushi place. Most of my friends think I am sick for eating them, but they are great and far from the wierdest thing I have eaten.

If you eat meat and you ever go to Kenya don't miss the carnivore restaurant. They have all sorts of local exotic meat like ostrich, crocodile, zebra, hippo (I think they had hippo), as well as more usual meat like beef. They were all really good. They cook their meat over a big pit of fire on skewers. Well, not some much skewers as large swords They have little spinning racks with the meat on them, and when you are full you put up a little white flag that signals that you surrender It was a cool place.

Mmmm I couldn't help reading about the biltong (directly translated is mean cow tongue. I wonder why they named it that?) personally I’ve only ate ostrich biltong once I more like springbok biltong but I have eaten cow biltong the only problem is that it takes so long to became dry. There is also another good old SA meal I like afval it the head, legs and stomach of an animal (normally sheep). I like it if they just scrap of the hair from the sheep’s head throw it into a pot of bowling water then serve not a lot of meat mind you but the tongue and eyes tastes good (I don’t know why but all my friends don’t seem to like it by it).

I just had some sort of Mediterarrean quail for dinner.

And I once had a hard, sour-apple flavored candy with honey ants in it- it was great!

So Vayne what does paintballs taste like? Never eaten one before myself so I wouldn't really know.
