I loved Dune, the movie. I've never read any of the books, but I understand they are excellent. A good friend of mine (who lives in Edinborough btw) runs a Dune fan site, check out House Atreides

Edit: By the looks of it, he has a contest to win a copy of the pc game Frank Herbert's Dune. Check it out!

I loved the Dune series! I've read the entire series up to ChapterHouseune. Most of my reading nowadays is from authors here but one of these days I'll get around to reading the 'House' books.

I read the first 3 dune books. It's hard to start reading them but it's harder to stop reading them . However i loved it. I also played dune 2, dune2000 and emperor battle for dune. If you have read the books, play the games, they r good

I pretty much like all things DUNE related, the film although very long was a mini-masterpiece in the making.

I haven't played the game though so i'm to too sure what thats like.

Anybody played it?

Dune2000's character was based primarily on the music, which made the mood.
Grapohics were weaker than Tiberian Sun, but people that usually sat down to the Dune game, were already FANS of the Universe and brought in their knowledge and love for the universe from books.

Thats one big advantage.

I read the books written by Herbert's son, and they are quite nice, match Dad's style..
