Strife disgusted threw up into the apc. She then ran up to Ash and SLAPPED HIM. Ash asked "what the fuck was that for??" He looked over as he noticed that the girlscouts head was reforming itself.

"there is some messed up shit going down. Those big armoured aliens are slaughtering the bugs, but the bugs just keep coming. Pick up your rifle, and you kill anything that has a banana for a head or asks 'would you like to buy some cookies?'!"

"...cookies? What the hell...?"

"Dont ask, just blow the hell out of everything that moves!"

They both leap from the APC, and rifles unslung, begin slaughtering the bugs. The Queen is nowhere to be found, but there are hordes of drones. As Bob looks about between volleys of gunfire, he notices about 4 or 5 of the hunters are firing into the drones with their own plasma weapons. His eyes widen, as he notices they appaear to be helping them, but he then concentrates, as an acidic spray nearly took off his head, he ducked, and shattered the drone leaping for him. He regained stance, and launched a grenade into an oncoming group of about 6 bugs. It exploded, and acidic body parts flew in all directions. He screamed "Now this is why I joined!"

He then noticed off to his right that one of the hunters had a herd of about 3 drones advancing, and it appeared his rifle was malfunctioning. Bob knew it was risky, but he charged, and begin blowing the drones apart. They shreiked, and flew apart in acidic spray. The hunter maintained his weapon, and looked at the marine. It was easily 2 feet taller than he, and he watched as it nodded to him, then turned and kept firing into the brood. He grinned, and noticed that coming out of one of the speakers of the APC was "Fight fire with Fire" by Metallica.

"Kickass tunes for a kickass situation" he thought, and continued firing. His gaze swiveling about, he noticed Strife, handling her own, firing grenade rounds into the brood. He then tracked some other guy whom he'd never seen before, dressed in a torn blue shirt and khaki pants. He had some sort of chainsaw rig on his right arm, and was blasting off a double barreled shotgun at the drones approaching him, and he could reload surprisingly quick. Bob smirked.

"we're gonna need all the help we can get..."

he muttered as the distinct high pitched squeal of a Queen was heard above all else. Bob continued watching all around, but then caught the site of one of his other buddies, Remierez, running out of ammo. He struggled to slap in another mag, but the drones cuahgt up with him. He was caught, hauled into the air, and literally thrown into the oncoming horde. Bob could hear his screams, as the drones ripped him limb from limb. He closed his eyes for a second, thanking god that he couldnt see the sight. They were down by one, leaving about 5 marines, and 5 hunters left. Then he remembered the mecha bug, but it was nowhere to be found. He was still firing, but hung up what Strife was saying about cookies, when...

The Queen reared her ugly head from the wide open hanger in the compound. It was about 50 meters ahead of everybody else, and it appeared to be the source of the continuous drone hordes. Her glistening, rigged carapace hung low to the ground as she exited the hanger, slowly her scrawny, tendon encased rear legs pulled her to where everyone and everything could see her. She then rose, slowly, with a royal elegance, and her fanged mouth emerged from under her crown. The transulcent enamel of her fangs parted, revealing a second set of jaws, and an ear piercing shriek echoed throughout the hanger, as well as the surrounding vicinity. SHe brought her spider-like forearms to an attacking position, her long, segmented tail coiled, and she reared up again, bellowing into the greenish purple, cloudfilled sky. She appeared enraged, most likely over the deaths of her brood, but Bob didnt want to end up the host for more. Against all orders that were shouted to him by commanding officers as he ran, he couldnt tell where he was going, or why his legs were moving. It was as if his body had shut his mind off, and was simply concerned with getting him the hell out of there. He dropped everything...helmet...shoulder lamp...pusle rifle...everything and just ran, ran from the horde, ran from his comrades, ran from the hunters, ran from whatever sense of humanity he had left, ran from life. He could still hear the assaults as he fled, his mind slowly returning the farther he got. along the way he thought he spotted a girlscout, but it turned out to be a cactus. He just kept running and running, and finally, his mind fully returned. He stopped. He looked around. He realised that he lost track of where he was, and was self-stranded in the middle of nowhere. Then he realised something else, and broke down. He collapsed to his knes, buried his head in his hands, and sobbed. He had left his fellow marines. Left them to die at the hands of death itself. He didnt even know how long he had been running for. It was still dark, but a slight gleam if twilight was peering over the red mountains which loomed in the distance. All around him, nothing. Rocks, some type of desert plant...nothing else. The stench of death was still in his nose. He couldnt get rid of it. He slapped himself across the face, fumbled with his gear, and finally found the canteen which he was issued. He spun the cap, and drank from it. Then he spat it out. It tasted like rotting flesh. He couldnt escape it. It was like something was making him believe that the world around him was collapsing, all because he panicked. He drank again anyway, but the water seemed scalding hot. He couldnt even swollow it. He spat it out again, and it splashed on a dry rock. If he couldnt drink the water, then he would surely die come mid-day. It grew hotter than a kiln during the day on that baron planet. He lifted his head, and stared into the sky. For the first time in his life, he saw its true colors. Crimson, and magenta, and violet, and blue, and green, and orange...all tossed into a melting pot and strewn throughout the galaxy. In what few stars remained, he thought he saw something that he hadnt thought about in a long time. He thought he saw the face of May...the love of his life. He hadnt forgotten her...he never could...everytime before that she came into his head, his heart would ache and feel like it was being torn apart from the inside. A great fire tugging at his soul, that wouldnt give out until he let the thought pass, or managed to become occupied with something else. She was the only one he had ever truly loved...she was the only one who loved him back. She was the only one whom he had loved physically as well...even that was only once. He gave her his soul, and he never wanted to take it back. He could never forget the day when it happened. The crash. The fire. The screams. The day his whole life came crashing down on him, and she was gone forever. He slumped back down, and leaned back against a rigged rock formation of some sort, which in his daze, felt warm to touch. He began to drift away into another world...a world where there is no pain...no suffering...where May and his buddies arent really dead, and the bugs never existed. Where the hunters never visited this galaxy. Where he never became a marine. Where he would have lived at home, never having worries about money, with his newly wed wife, May, and they'd had dozens of children. Where their lives were perfect. He sat still, against the odd rock, thinking of what could have been, even so while the rock came to life, and he felt sharp digits dig into the soft flesh of his face, and even as he saw the silver teeth slowly open in front of his eyes, between a set of larger ones, he smiled dreamily.

"We're finally together again May..."

*SHINKT*

...darkness...

Bob was gone. Thats all she knew. The Queen had again retreated back into the hanger, but her heavy, wet breathing could still be heard above all else, with shrieks every few minutes. The drone hordes had since shrunk, only a few dozen remained. Ammo throughout the platoon ran low, and the hunters had vanished into the hanger with her majesty. There were three of them left. Her. Ash. and a private class smartgunner, whom she coudnt remember the lad's name. Her pulse rifle was on its last mag, and only a few dozen shots left. She watched as Ash swiftly belted the last drone across the skull with the butt of his shotgun, then using a collected VP-70, blew its acidic brain matter across the already burned and shriveling soil. It let out a screech, and convulsed on the ground, blood spurting lightly around the vicinity. Strife sighed with relief, and slung her rifle. Her arm ached like hell, not to mention stiff. She grimmaced, and began flexing her elbow, trying to get the circulation running again. She looked at Ash, who was catching his breath, muttering something unrecognizable. The smartgunner was kneeling, hands clasped together, obviously praying that they were still alive. Strife walked over to the two, and noticed that Ash had a severe gash near his waist. It was deep, but not bleeding as much as it normally might. SHe looked down at him, as he was hunched over, and he glared up at her, with a weary smirk.

"I'll live...gone through hell before...literally."

Strife grinned a bit at his humor, crude as it was. She then stood tall, and announced to Ash and the smartgunner.

"All right. Whatever remains of the bug army, I think its safe to say they're in reserve, and if we want to get that big bitch, we should advance into the hanger. You, second in command." she pointed at Ash. "You, follow up the rear. Be cautious., now lets haul ass."

She unslung the rifle again, and kneeled to take what looked like a half-full mag from the ground. Must've been dropped from another marine. She slid it in her belt, and secured a loose strap on her helmet. If they were gonna die, they were gonna go out fighting. She then, slowly, stepped silently towards the hanger, and the others were following closely behind her. When they reached the massive , iron hanger doors, she gave the others a signal to stop, and she peeked inside. It was dark...and it smelled like a corpse. She tried to hold her breath, and switched on her image intensifier. She culdnt believe what she saw...

The leading Hunter. He stood, gashes covering his torso and legs, helmet discarded, apparently panting. He stood tall, proud, wrist knives extended. Soon gathering around him, were 3 of his comrades, none were taller than he, but 1 still withheld it's helmet. They as well, were gashed, green glowing blood splashed about the wounds. They appeared more shaken up, but obviously because their commander had more experience. Strife looked arund the hive, and in the distance, from where the hunters had been, she could see something that she thought she would never see.

The hunters had subdued the bitch.

She was immense, but now with a strange sort of innosense. Strife couldn't exactly see from where she was, so she slowly stepped towards the hunters, Ash and the smartgunner following. She watcherd the hunters, for any hint of protest, but there was none. They showed no objection, and stared at them as they passed. It was as if they wanted them to see their accomplishment. Their prize. Their trophy.

Strife hurried over to the vicinity, and when she thought she was close enough, she switched on her shoulder lamp. The sudden illumination must have startled the Queen, because she wretched, releasing a low screech. Strife's jaw dropped, as she was sure the other two's had. The Queen was in complete bondage, secured tightly around her neck, tail, and pretty much all other appendages with some sort of cord, or rope. She dared not get any closer, because this site, even with the little damage the Queen could do then, was still utterly frightening. The bug was fastened tightly to the organic wall material, hopefully to the wall behind the resin. She was not moving, but her distinct wet, heavy breathing could be heard a mile away. Strife looked back at the hunters, who were now making their way to them. She saw Ash, who was simply staring up at the bug empress, eyes wide, unmoving. The smartgunner had apparently fainted, they were laying sprawled across the floor, coated in some sort of mucus. The hunters reached them, and too looked to the Queen. The commander strode slowly to Strife, and looked down at her. Her gaze shifted upwards, steadily and slowly, for fear that he would bring his head down, and bash her skull. Their eyes met, and she was surprised to see some sort of glint in its eye. She began to wonder...is this why they're here? They came to capture this thing, and thats all? She continued to look into the creature's eyes, the gleam shwoing some sort of pride, and even happiness. It's spiked mandibles clattered, and it raised its arm. Strife flinched, but realising it's intention, stood tall. It brought its arm down on her shoulder, quite hard, and shook. She did her best to return the gesture. It obviously recognized her as the leader, and then it strode past her, along with it's followers, to some place off to the left of the Queen. Strife, not knowing, began to follow cautiously. The hunters stopped, and the commander stooped, crouching to something apparently laying on the ground. Strife reached them, one of the hunters looked back, then returned its gaze to the thing on the floor. Strife strained to see, and saw what they were doing. One of their comrades had been killed, obviously during the submission of the Queen, and they must have wanted to let him retain his honor in his death. The commander was muttering something, in its strange, scratchy voice, and in their own tongue. It then brushed its clawed hands over the fallen one's eye sockets, and removed some sort of satchel around its back. The leader got up, and as if taking command of all of them, directed Strife over to the Queen. The other hunters knew what to do, and they began to cautiously unclasp the Queen from the wall. When the restraints were free, the Queen fumbled, and fell to the floor with a loud clattering thump. She hissed, but did not have enough strength to make an escape. Perhaps they had given her some sort of sedative. The hunters then held one or two ropes in their fists, and looking to her and the others, nodded, as if telling them to do the same. She nodded also, and grabbed two of the twined ropes that were trailing from the bug. Ash and the smartgunner had done the same, but the smartgunner was hesitant, as she could see. The leader hunter shouted something, its voice echoing throughout the entire structure, and the othe hunters began to pull. It seems they want to drag the Queen out of their. Mustering everything she could, Strife pulled at the ropes, with almost no avail. She tried again, and again, and finally saw some results. With Ash, the other two hunters, and the smartgunner sharing the burden, and now the leader joining them, they continued to haul the Queen's exoskeletal ass out of the hive. It was tedious, and taking time, but they managed to get her out of the entranceway. The hunters obviously need not take breaks, not yet anyeway, but Strife was tired as shit. She did not let up though, and kept tugging, the embraced queen snarling at them as her chitin armor clattered on stones and other small obstacles. They had managed to get her out into the desert, not terrible far from the compound, and then the leader stopped, as if sensing something. He looked up, and so did the others. Strife did as well, and there, trying to land, was...

The hunters noticed that they were stopped to talk. The leader instructed the others threw a loud sound. They all took out theese weird 2 knifes and plunged them into themselves. Remarkably they began to heal the wounds they had taken. Within 5 minutes they were healed and continued to drag the carapace along the desert and the leader looked back and screeched.

He was obvoisly thanking them. They loaded into the flying machine and continued on. For about 30 mins they continued on untill they reached a ragged base that was obviously just put up.

They unloaded into the base when some guy called them in to see the commander. They followed him into the base. There were lines everywhere, on the floor, ceiling, walls, everywhere u looked there was a line. They followed down a passage up to a room that had written in big black letters "Commander Scratch&Sniff."

Strife laughed as they entered the room. Commander Scratch&Sniff the guy said your visitors are here. He acknowledged and said u better look at this. On the screen was...
