I like all of the species equally ^_^. And no, i'm not saying that just to get in the way of the purpose of the thread

no that's all right. i like the marine first and the alien second. i like to use weapons made by my friends and i. i'm their mod tester for their new mods that they can't usebecause of their parents not letting them on. things like that.

Marines prolly come second after the Alien for me... other than Space Hulk the first FPS I ever played was AvP1, and for the novelty I chose the xeno first... as a result I'm far more highly trained with claws than guns . I'd rank Predators above Marines if either of the AvP games actually handled them properly, but in the first game the experience of being a Predator wasn't really all it could be (skinning & model could have been better, although the cloak effect rocked.. plus the missions weren't really Predish) and in the second game although the skinning, models, sounds and SP levels were top-notch, you might as well have been playing as a cloakable marine without a motion tracker. The perfect Predator should have the advantages laid down in AvP1 (start off with all weapons, highly specialised, only needs to collect field charge but relies on it) combined with the cosmetics and new weapons added in the sequel.

Anyway! Marines tend to be moderately well-balanced in both the games, although some of AvP2's marine arsenal does need some tweaking (and the sniper rifle urgently needs to be dropped). I tend to play as Ivan because miniguns can be very powerful if used properly, and sometimes use Rykov too because of his pulse rifle. I almost never use the grenades (CHEAPFEST!) but even without them, the PR is the best gun in the selection for accuracy- sniper rifles may have one-hit-kills and a scope but the PR is practically an instant kill too if you hit the head.

First off.. I was an alien person
Then I started to get into the marine side of the game and got quite good.. but since all other games seem to be guns... I guess I went with novelty too and went for pred.. then decided to stick with my roots and stay with alien
I like all though and don't mind using any class

Shotgun is my favorite marine weapon, i have learned to be deadly with it . One of the few people better with it then me is my clan leader Secretrealms. If you see him coming your way with a sniper or a shotgun, GET THE **** OUTA THERE.

For some reason when you play as a marine you feel like your in their shoes. It's alot scarier cos you feel 'the' marine.....

My fave weapon tho would be the flamer!

Jump?

Acid-Death, yup that's so very true. For possibly the scariest experience in all gaming history, use the AvPLauncher or NELev in AvP1 to play the Predator version of Vaults as the Marine (I don't mean the Vaults bonus level you can unlock by beating all the Marine levels). This is a ridiculously frightening map in itself, but playing it without Electrical vision as a lone marine... eek.

ok she was talkin of the crouch
2 problems with that method:
1) its deemed a cheap tactic
2) a good pulser can headshot you anyway, even when crouched
